Gender: A complex combination of roles, expressions, identities, performances, and more that are assigned gendered meaning by a society. Gender is both self-defined and society-defined. How gender is embodied and defined varies from culture to culture and from person to person. Gender is a spectrum rather a binary.The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity works to raise awareness about the hate crimes and violence gender non-conforming individuals face on a daily basis with campaigns around campus. We offer presentations of Trans 101 to groups throughout the year.
